Now THIS is a feel good film.
Dove is known for creating empowering ads for women (remember when they did this?)—but this clip has got to be their best campaign yet.
The brand installed two signs—"Average" and "Beautiful"—in two adjacent doors in random establishments in San Francisco, Shanghai, Delhi, London, and Sao Paulo. Naturally, if you needed to get inside the building, you'd have to pick whether to go through the Average or the Beautiful door, right?
If you had to choose, which door would you pick?
"I walked into the door that said average, and I really didn't feel good after that, because obviously I had rated myself average and nobody else [did]," a woman said.
We think the most compelling part of the video was when a mother entered the average door with her toddler and said, "Am I choosing because of what's constantly bombarded at me? What I'm being told? That I should accept? Or am I choosing because that's what I really believe?"
Dove's message is pretty clear: Real beauty is a choice. "Every day I go through the Average door, but yesterday was a unique day. So I chose to go through the Beautiful one," a woman admitted.
Well said, sister.
