IDK about you, but one of my favorite things about the changing seasons is that it gives me a chance to switch up my nail look. Like, matching my manicure to my favorite fuzzy sweater? Um, yes pls. So to get y'all as excited as I am for holiday 2020 nail looks, I did some serious trend forecasting (read: hours and hours of IG scrolling) to figure out what nail colors, patterns, and designs will be super popular in the upcoming months. Ahead, the 10 coolest holiday nail trends and ideas—from ultra-detailed nail art to luxury logos—that you'll want to start wearing ASAP.

  1. The Double French Manicure

This chic, double-French manicure design is the perfect nail look for all of the holiday parties. You'll need two neutral nail polish shades (one that's a bit more white, and one that's a bit more tan) and scotch tape to recreate this look at home.

  2. Mustard Nails

Spicy mustard yellow is basically the new tie-dye (legit everyone will be wearing it).

  3. The Half Circle

This half-circle manicure is super cute for winter, and surprisingly easy to DIY. Use two complementary polish colors to create your half circle design on the left side of your nail, clean up any messy edges with a Q-tip soaked in nail polish remover, and then seal everything in with a glossy top coat.

  4. Pierced Tips

So I fully don't recommend piercing the tips of your natural nails, but piercing the tips of press-ons to get in on this nail trend? Totally fair game. Grab a set with elongated tips and use a sewing needle to pierce a hole through the backs of the fake nails, add a few cute little silver loops, then adhere them to your natural nails like normal.

  5. The Leopard Print

Leopard print: It's having a moment for winter 2020, folks. The easiest way to get in on the trend is to pop on a set of printed nail wraps or stickers, but you can also use the tip of a toothpick and nail polish to free-draw your spots.

  6. Ultra-Detailed Nails

I'm soooo into the super-detailed nail art trend. Just paint your nails with a neutral base and then create different designs in varying colors on each finger—either free-handing with a thin striping brush or, if you're not the best at painting your nails, using tiny press-on nail stickers.

  7. Silver French Manicure

Upgrade your regular-ol' French manicure with this trendy version seen backstage at Erdem's runway show for winter 2020. Prep and shape your nails as usual, then use silver nail polish to create the tip. Don't worry about the line being perfectly rounded to match the shape of your nail—this French mani actually looks cooler when the bottom is squared off a bit.

  8. Logo Mani

The logo mani trend that has been legit everywhere this summer will still be thriving (translation: all over your feed) come holiday season. Try something subtle and draw two interlocking Cs (using black nail polish and a thin striper brush) to create a mini Chanel logo on every other nail.

  9. Sheer Neutrals

sheer, neutral manicure is always trendy—no matter the season or year. It's clean, simple, and will look pretty with whatever color chunky sweater you're wearing.

  10. Metallic Earth Tones

Not only is this metallic earth tone manicure ridiculously pretty, it's super on-trend for the holidays. You'll need five different nail polish colors (silverbronzegoldrose gold, and white, to be exact) and a gel-like top coat to re-create this look.
