Despite being the subject of unsolicited comments regarding her curvy physique, Xyriel Manabat is not one to back down from spreading body positivity—bashers be damned! Case in point: She bared her best assets at the recently concluded Star Magic Summer Party, where she stunned the crowd with an all-black ensemble that hugged her body in the right places.
In the interview portion with the event hosts Enchong Dee and Ria Atayde, the young actress revealed that while she was apprehensive about attending the event, she decided to push through with it because she wanted to make a positive statement.
She offered an unfiltered view on why it’s important to respect every body type. “Kasi po I believe na hindi po siya dapat ikinakahiya or ikinaka-sorry and mas lalong hindi siya dapat ikinaka-settle lang.”

“Our body is never less. Our body should be celebrated, respected and defended. We should not justify someone na magtangka na mag-disrespect ng body natin in any way,” she added.
In a previous interview, Xyriel disclosed that she had to go to therapy because of some netizens’ inappropriate comments about her body. She urged her bashers to rethink their preconceived notions about a woman’s body, regardless of how they dress. "Pwede po wag niyo po ako manduhan sa katawan ko, opo. Tignan niyo na lang, scroll niyo na lang, huwag na po kayo mag-comment hangga't maaari. Hindi po body type ng tao ang mag-aadjust kung hindi yung utak po natin."
