Some stories may have that slow burn, while others will get you hooked from the get-go. But one thing’s for sure: A romantic K-drama wouldn’t be complete without an aminan scene! Whether the two leads are already together at the start of the story, or if they’re still trying to find their way to each other, any profession of love—whether the first or the first of many—is definitely high up on our K-drama kilig list.
So grab a pillow now and brace yourself, because here are some declarations of love guaranteed to make you hug it tight!
My Love From The Star (2013)
Cheon Song Yi’s (Jun Ji Hyun) confession was just oh so adorable! We can all relate to how crazy our thoughts get when we think about the person we like—especially when we’re about to confess our feelings to them. And the way the OST started just as Song Yi turned around to discover that Do Min Joon (Kim Soo Hyun) was still there? Perfection!
Descendants Of The Sun (2016)
We all felt Kang Mo Yeon’s (Song Hye Kyo) embarrassment as her “confession” was being broadcast for everyone to hear. But seeing Yoo Shi Jin’s (Song Joong Ki) smile when he discovered Mo Yeon’s feelings made this one of the best, albeit accidental, confession scenes in K-drama history!
Love In The Moonlight (2016)
Please tell me I wasn’t the only one who was afraid that Lee Yeong (Park Bo Gum) wasn’t going to kiss Hong Ra On (Kim Yoo Jung) when she finally decided to 'fess up! But all was good in the world when we saw Lee Yeong’s famous smile as he leaned in for a kiss. On a side note, this garden is such a gorgeous place to profess your love, don’t you think?
Weightlifting Fairy Kim Bok Joo (2016)
Omo, my heart will always be weak for Jong Joon Hyung’s (Nam Joo Hyuk) confession scene! Joon Hyung took our breath away when he decided to corner Kim Bok Joo (Lee Sung Kyung) and declared his feelings with a kiss.
Strong Woman Do Bong Soon (2017)
Was it just me, or were you guys also holding your breath as Ah Min Hyuk (Park Hyung Sik) held Do Bong Soon (Park Bo Young) so close while almost begging her to love him back? The suspense was real!
Crash Landing On You (2019)
I’m not crying, you’re crying!!! Seeing Captain Ri’s (Hyun Bin) strong and stoic demeanor shattered from the fear of losing Yoon Se Ri (Son Ye Jin) was just so painful to watch. It was also the perfect moment for his first “I love you”!
Itaewon Class (2020)
From being co-workers to friends, and then eventually lovers? Yes, please! We can all agree that this scene where Jo Yi Seo (Kim Da Mi) declares her love for Park Saeroyi (Park Seo Joon) was heartbreaking. It’s a good thing Saeyori eventually comes to his senses and falls for her in the end!
The King: Eternal Monarch (2020)
An over-the-top declaration isn’t always necessary to make your heart skip a beat. Sometimes, all you need is the right moment, and of course, the right person to declare your love to. That was the case for Jung Tae Eul (Kim Go Eun) and Lee Gon (Lee Min Ho). Her unexpected confession was so simple and straightforward; no wonder Lee Gon was left speechless!
