And we thought the 31-year-old guy dating a 91-year-old grandmother was weird enough already.
A 9-year-old boy named Saneie from South Africa has married a 62-year-old woman named Helen for the second time to "honor his ancestors." The couple held a ceremonial (Read: symbolic and NOT legally binding) wedding in 2013 (because Seneie's dead ancestors told him to), then renewed their vows again this year in front of their friends and families, which included the husband and five kids of the bride.
While many frowned upon the unlikely nuptials, Helen’s husband and Seneie’s mother are totally cool with it. "I know it’s what the ancestors wanted. If we hadn’t done what my son had asked then something bad would have happened in the family,” shared the mother. Oh, btw, Helen has a husband of 30 years, Alfred, who doesn't have any issue with the ceremony. He explains, "My kids and I are happy because we don’t have a problem with her marrying the boy–and I don’t care what other people say.” Okay then.
