Cruel Intentions could become your new favourite TV show, with a spin-off series reportedly in the works for American network NBC.
The film's original director and writer Roger Kumble is involved, according to Variety, as well as Lindsey Rosin and Jordan Ross, who were behind this year's surprise hit Cruel Intentions musical.
The bad news is that the original cast of Reese Witherspoon, Sarah Michelle Gellar, Ryan Phillippe, and Selma Blair won't be back, because the series will apparently be set in the present-day.
Instead, the plot centres around the 16-year-old son of the late Sebastian Valmont (RIP) and Annette Hargrove, called Bash Casey. Yep, Annette was actually pregnant before Sebastian died.
At the end of the original film, Annette is seen driving off with Sebastian's journal after his funeral. It looks like she held onto the journal, because their son Bash finds it and ~*dramaaaaa*~.
When he realizes the ridiculously messed up stuff his parents went through, he decides to leave Kansas to FIND ANSWERS. And by answers, we mean he gets a scholarship to the prestigious Brighton Preparatory Academy in San Francisco and gets caught up in the same world of sex, money, power and corruption.
EEE! If they can get a good cast on board, this could be gooood. Anyone else thinking Reese and Ryan's daughter Ava NEEDS to be involved?
