Adele Undergoing Therapy for Stage Nerves

Featured

The "Rolling in the Deep" singer is returning to the stage for the first time at the Oscars (February 24, 2013) since giving birth, and has been undergoing special Chinese Qi Gong breathing therapy after being recommended by fellow singer Robbie Williams' wife Ayda Field.

A source told the Daily Star newspaper: "Adele has suffered from terrible stage fright since she was 16, but now it's worse than ever.

"She knows all eyes are on her after almost a year out of the spotlight, so she needed something to help her with it.

"Ayda was the first person to tell Adele about Belly Breathing, and how it had helped Robbie overcome his performing anxiety in recent years."

Adele will perform her James Bond theme song "Skyfall" during a special tribute to the British spy franchise which will take place during the film awards next week. The song is also nominated for an award in the Best Song category.

The breathing therapy is also having a great effect on the singer, and ensuring she will be in top shape when it is time to perform.

The source added: "It's done wonders for Adele since she started getting daily sessions from a leading Indian practitioner.

"She's being taught to breathe with her diaphragm instead of her chest, which is making an enormous difference.

"Adele has said it feels like she's in a whole new phase of her life where performing's concerned, and is confident she can beat her stage fright once and for all."

Adele's nerves have previously almost gotten in the way of a big performance, and she admitted to being sick before singing at the Grammy awards in 2012.
