You know the drill, Cosmo girls—once there's a new K-drama in town, you can count on us to bring you fun facts about the cast! For today, we'll *focus* on the actors of Business Proposal and their ~past~ careers.
The popular Netflix series is based on the webtoon of the same name and is about an office worker who unknowingly went on a blind date with her boss to *save* her friend. Business Proposal is led by Kim Sejeong, Ahn Hyo Seop, Seol In Ah, and Kim Min Kyu. All four of them can definitely act and...sing!
You already know that Sejeong started her career in the K-pop industry. She joined the singing competition K-pop Star 2 when she was 16 years old before competing in the girl group survival show, Produce 101. Sejeong made it to the final lineup and debuted as a member of IOI as well as Gugudan.
Here's something that might surprise you: Hyo Seop and Seol In Ah could've joined Sejeong as K-pop stars! The 26-year-old actor used to train under JYP Entertainment (the label that handles K-pop groups like TWICE, ITZY, and Stray Kids) for three years and he was supposed to debut as a member of GOT7 (he's besties with Jackson Wang!).
According to Hyo Seop, he didn't end up in the group because of his height and he was "a bit lacking in talent then." He also realized that he wanted to do music only as a hobby. Still, you can see that he has the makings of a K-pop star once you watch his dancing videos!
As for In Ah, she was an idol trainee who practiced with Heo Young Ji from the second-generation K-pop group, KARA. When she enrolled at the Seoul Institute of the Arts, In Ah let go of her K-pop idol dreams and majored in acting instead. Here are videos of her dancing to BIGBANG's "Bang Bang Bang" and Chungha's "Gotta Go" that prove her exceptional talent:
You can watch new episodes of Business Proposal on Netflix every Monday and Tuesday.
