Pinoy K-pop fans, huge news: one of our favorite idols, Ailee, just released a cover of an OPM song!
Fil-Am musical director Troy Laureta just released an album co-produced by ABS-CBN Music International titled KAIBIGAN: A Troy Laureta OPM Collective. The compilation showcases the voices of world-class artists, including Asia's songbird Regine Velasquez, American singer-songwriter Sheléa, the Pussycat Dolls' Nicole Scherzinger, and the Korean-American singer, Ailee. The K-pop idol rendered her version of Martin Nievera's "Kahit Isang Saglit" and OMG, IT WAS PERFECT!
Ailee took to Instagram and posted a snippet of the song, which she said was recorded through a video call. She thanked her Pinoy friend as well for traveling from Busan all the way to Seoul just to help her out with her pronunciation! Ailee also mentioned her PH fans: "Never thought I’d be singing in Tagalog but this is for all my Aileeans in the Philippines!! Hope you enjoy!!!", and added: "Hope I did ok!!! Lol." It was more than okay—it was fantastic, queen!

Ailee debuted in 2012 with the song "Heaven." Throughout the years, she's been consistently blessing us with her powerful vocals through her ballads and would often sing for K-drama OSTs. ICYDK, she's recorded tracks for Dream High 2, Goblin, Memories Of The Alhambra, Arthdal Chronicles, and the hit Netflix series, Start-Up, where she sang "Blue Bird." FYI, this is one of our fave songs from the drama's playlist.
Here's the entire clip of Ailee's version of "Kahit Isang Saglit"
While you're here, do enjoy her stunning cover of BTS' "Dynamite" (btw, her bias is Jimin!).
