It's been a real tough time for everyone around the world as we fight against the COVID-19 pandemic. But the people who serve in the battlegrounds are our dear frontliners (doctors, nurses, police, and the like) who risk their lives every day just to keep us safe from the disease.

And one celeb who wanted to raise awareness on the sacrifices the frontliners have been making is Alden Richards. In an interview with GMA-7's 24 Oras via video call, Alden sent his thanks to them, saying, "Maraming maraming salamat po sa pagsasakripisyo ng buhay niyo para sa kaligtasan naming lahat. Hindi biro na labanan itong isang kalaban na hindi natin nakikita, pero nandiyan kayo from military to police to barangay tanods to doctors to nurses. My heart goes to them, especially [to] the frontliners."

The notoriously private Kapuso star then went on to reveal that his own brother, Kuya RD Faulkerson, is actually serving as a frontliner in California as a nurse.

"Lahat ng medical workers, like my brother. Yung kuya ko kasi frontliner siya sa California ngayon. Pinipilit ko siya na huwag nang pumasok ngayon kasi naka-lockdown sila, but sabi niya sakin, parang, kawawa yung mga pasyente niya. Naiiyak tuloy ako," he said while holding back his emotions.

He then continued, "I feel for him kasi kailangan niyang gawin yung trabaho niya sa community."

Alden then ended the interview to give thanks again to all the frontliners who have gone above and beyond their duties during this pandemic, "Thank you so much sa inyong lahat. Andito lang kami, kahit hindi man kami nandiyan physically. But our prayers, our hearts, our minds, goes to them. And sana, matapos na 'to."
