Alden Richards has another feather in his cap as he received the Asian Star Prize at the 2019 Seoul International Drama Awards on August 28. The award recognizes excellence in television drama productions worldwide.
The awarding ceremony was held at the Grand Peace Hall of Kyunghee University. On Facebook, GMA Artist Center shared video footage as Alden arrived at the awarding ceremony looking dapper in a tailored blue suit.
In his acceptance speech, Alden said, “As a Filipino, I am very humbled and grateful to be recognized in the international scene, along with so many amazing and talented artists here tonight.”
“This award is extra special because it comes at a time when we are celebrating 70 years of friendship between the Philippines and South Korea,” the actor added.
Thanking the Seoul Drama Awards Committee and the Korean Broadcasters Association, Alden concluded, “As actors, it is always our hope to make more people happy and inspire them with our passion.”
It’s not the first time that Alden has received international recognition for his work as an actor. In 2018, Alden received the silver medal award for his film Alaala at the New York Festivals.
Alden is currently enjoying the success of his latest film with Kathryn Bernardo, Hello, Love, Goodbye. As of August 23, the film grossed over P800 million since it opened on July 31. The actor is set to star in a yet-to-be-named teleserye on GMA-7.
