It’s been over 15 years since Kris Bernal joined the hit survival show StarStruck, along with hundreds of hopefuls who were dreaming to have a shot at showbiz. ICYDK, she emerged as one of the winners and was immediately paired up with her co-finalist Aljur Abrenica. The two went on to star in several projects together and became one of the most popular love teams in the early 2010s!
Now that Kris and Aljur went on their separate ways, everyone’s asking the same question: Are they still friends?
“Half,” the actress tells Boy Abunda in the latest episode of his talk show. “Hindi niya ako nire-replyan. Ilang beses ko na siyang niyaya sa vlog ko, hindi niya ako nire-replyan.”
She added, “Nananawagan ako kay Aljur, baka pwede tayong mag-collab,” admitting that even though haven't kept in touch, Aljur is still her ~favorite leading man~. Awww!
Prinsesa Ng Buhay Ko/GMAThe actress also cleared up rumors that they were in a relationship back in 2009. "Nagparamdam nang konti [si Aljur] pero hindi nag-work talaga as real-life couple. Talagang as a love team lang,” she says.
“I guess, parang feel ko na naramdaman naman niya that time na parang hindi ako interested. At tsaka may times na hindi kami nagkakasundo.”
According to Kris, however, it’s *normal* for love teams to have misunderstandings. “Sa totoo lang, may times na parang nag-aaway kami, pero kailangan as a love team, sweet-sweetan kami,” she says.
“Alam na alam ng mga love teams yan. Pinagdaanan ko lahat yan.”
While it seems like a YouTube collab’s off the table, we still hope you’ll have a reunion project someday, Kris and Aljur!
