Andi Eigenmann is putting her old (but still beautiful) clothes to good use.
In one of her YouTube videos uploaded on June 13, Sunday, the islander mom and former actress shared how she is helping raise funds for Siargao's health and day care centers by selling her pre-loved clothes.
"We're here sorting our clothes—pre-loved—for our ukay-ukay this weekend," Andi said, showing their busy household organizing clothes.
The following day, Andi and her friends in the community set up the items for the first day of the sale, which was held at a restaurant. Aww, even Ellie Eigenmann was selling her own pre-loved clothes!
Andi said they purposefully chose the location for the sale so that it would attract the attention of passersby in the neighborhood. She also talked about she was initially hesitant to sell her used stuff. Good thing a friend of hers had arranged a fundraiser which would be perfect to donate the proceeds of the sale to.
"Tagal ko nang gustong magkaroon ng purpose yung mga pre-loved clothes namin," Andi said. "Alam ko na marami [ang] makikinabang and of course, it's better for the environment if I can see na napa-pass on ko siya. But then siyempre, parang nahiya naman ako magbenta, but then, my good friend Marja set up a fundraiser with Isla Medical Foundation in order to improve our health center and our daycare."
According to its Facebook page, the Isla Medical Foundation provides "medical support, supplies, and education to under-served island communities."
"Naisip ko na para hindi naman sayang ang mga binayad ng mga locals, sa kanila ko na rin ibabalik yung naibigay nila, kaya ilalagay natin sa health center yung earnings, 100 percent of the earnings, para makatulong naman 'di ba and maka-help na ma-provide yung mga kulang na materials and na mas pagandahin at ayusin pa yung health center namin dito."
Such a generous heart, Andi!
