In an episode of Bianca Gonzalez's web series, Paano Ba 'To, actress Angelica Panganiban gave some useful tips on how to survive the most heartbreaking of breakups.
Angelica, who's had a number of high-profile splits: Carlo Aquino, Derek Ramsay, and, most recently, John Lloyd Cruz, spoke about working on having total acceptance of the situation.
"Laging maglalaro yung isip mo, eh—na parang, 'Okay pa kami n'un, tapos biglang ganito na lang. Hindi ko dapat siya tinext. Baka nakulitan siya sa akin,'" she said. "Madami tayong iisipin para mabaliw tayo. Huwag mo ipilit sa sarili mo na baka may hope. Nag-start ako d'un sa acceptance na, wala na. Wala na talaga 'to."
Angelica admitted that accepting the breakup is the most difficult step in the healing process, but once you're over this, the rest just follows—forgiveness and letting go of anger.
She recalled the advice she received from one of her friends: "'Yang pain na 'yan embrace it, enjoy it. 'Yang pain bihira 'yan. Baka mamaya hanap hanapin mo." And also said that focusing on other endeavors definitely works, too: "'Yung pagod iba rin 'yan, amazing, kasi magigising ka na lang na 'Aba, hindi ko siya naisip!'"
The 30-year-old star, who's far from looking for a relationship anytime soon, ended with an inspiring statement for all the single ladies out there: "Alam mo, ang sarap pala maging single. Hindi lahat ng single, malungkot."
