Of Course, Annabelle Rama Wants A Big Wedding For Sarah + Richard

Filipino weddings are a family affair, but what happens if Annabelle Rama is your future mother-in-law?

With power couple Richard Gutierrez and Sarah Lahbati recently announcing their engagement, the public is eagerly awaiting details of one of the most-awaited weddings in Philippine showbiz.

The proposal clearly left Swiss-born Sarah breathless (as with all of us who saw the pictures!) when Richard put the ring on it with the romantic Swiss Alps in the background. But is she now out of breath as she discusses wedding preps with future mother-in-law Annabelle Rama?

In a recent interview with Magandang Buhay on ABS-CBN, Sarah shared that she just wants an intimate wedding, but her future MIL is looking forward to a lavish affair.

"Mag-aaway kami doon ni tita kasi gusto ni tita bongga'yung marami. Marami siyang kaibigan, kaya feeling ko maga-argue kami doon. So naiisip namin what if isa dito, isa abroad, pero parang magastos din 'yon. So 'yung mga kino-consider namin, dito or abroad? Kapag abroad ba lahat ay makakapunta?"

Annabelle has been very vocal (and public) about her advice to Richard and Sarah, and her other children. She even told during Zion's first birthday party in 2014 that she advised Sarah and Richard not to get married too soon and to enjoy their youth first. Looks like her advice paid off because the two did wait it out—and here we are three years later!

When Sarah was asked about her wedding dress, she said that she wanted something silky and lacy instead of something "too big and difficult to walk in."

"Mahilig ako sa silk na texture na damit. Silk and lace, 'yan ang very feminine, very classic, so 'yun ang pinag-iisipan ko ngayon. Ayaw ko kasi 'yung parang balloon, hindi ako makakalakad. Gusto ko 'yung kumportable ako, maganda pero classy pa din 'yung suot ko. Gusto ko simpleng ganda 'yung damit, simple lang pero may romantic something about it, something classic and classy."
