Did you watch footage from Ariana Grande's concert in St. Louis this weekend? If so, you might be wondering why she broke down into tears mid-way through a super emotional performance of "R.E.M."
A fan video posted on YouTube shows Ariana visibly crying during the song, shaking her head, and putting her hand to her face as she tries to get through the lyrics "Before you speak, don't move / 'Cause I don't wanna wake up."
Ariana ended up releasing a statement on Twitter (it's since been deleted), explaining, "I feel everything very intensely and have committed to doing this tour during a time in my life when I'm still processing a lot…so sometimes I cry a lot! I thank you for accepting my humanness. I'm not sure what I did to deserve to meet so many loving souls every night / to feel so much love, but I want you to know that it really does carry me through. I feel it and appreciate it. and all of you [so] much."
Amid the major success of her new albums, Ariana's had a hard couple years between the devastating Manchester Arena bombing, the death of her ex-boyfriend Mac Miller, as well as her very public breakup with Pete Davidson. She ended her post with, "I want you to know that if you are hurting, you can push through and are not alone. It is hard to balance taking care of the people around you, doing your job, and healing / taking care of yourself at the same time…but I want you to know, you aren't alone and I think you're doing great. love you."
