If you've ever needed proof of the power of manifesting your dreams, look no further than Ariana Grande, who spent years willing herself into her new dream role as Glinda in the upcoming movie adaptation of Wicked.
ICYMI, Hollywood is finalllly making good on the promise to bring the Broadway hit to the big screen. Jon M. Chu (who helmed the adaptation of Crazy Rich Asians) is directing and news broke this week that Ari is co-starring in the movie as Glinda, alongside the bonkers-talented Cynthia Erivo, who will play Elphaba.
Ariana's casting immediately got the very public stamp of approval from OG Glinda Kristin Chenoweth, who iconically originated the role on Broadway.
"I'm not sure if I’ve ever been this proud," Kristin tweeted. "From the very first day I met you, you were destined for this role. Congratulations @ArianaGrande! The best Glinda you will be with Cynthia by your side I love you!!"
As amazing as Kristin's words were, the images she attached to the tweet were actually even more awe-inspiring. Basically, they were visual proof of the fact that Ariana has been a Wicked stan for literally *years* now.
There was this adorable pic of a very young Ari beaming for a pic next to her idol, Kristin:
And then this incredibly sweet, decade-old tweet from Ariana in which she gushed about seeing Wicked for the umpteenth time and declared Glinda to be her dream role.
"Loved seeing Wicked again…amazing production!" Ariana publicly declared wayyyy TF back in 2011. "Made me realize again how badly I want 2 play Glinda at some point in my life! #DreamRole."
Twitter is, naturally, very much here for the fact that Ariana Grande, longtime Wicked stan, will now see that dream come true.
BRB, going to channel Ariana and spend the rest of the day working on my vision board since apparently dreams really do come true.
