FiLay shippers (fans of breakout love team David Licauco and Barbie Forteza) who were left wanting more from their recently concluded series Maria Clara at Ibarra will get their wish with a forthcoming movie and teleserye starring the two, due for release in the near future!
Speaking with Karen Davila in an interview, Barbie expressed her excitement over future projects with her on-screen beau. "I've had so many leading men before pero 'tong team up ko with David Licauco sa Maria Clara at Ibarra is one of the most successful love teams," she said.
Given the success of her love team with the Kapuso heartthrob, some netizens couldn't help but wonder if her longtime beau Jak Roberto ever gets jealous of David. "Hindi naman po. Kasi magkaibigan po sila ni David and kami ni David malinaw sa aming dalawa na this is a business partnership," she shared.
She gave credits to their fans, whom she describes as “understanding” of her real-life relationship status. "Nakakatuwa lang din kahit 'yung mga supporters namin very mature mag-isip, matatalino. Wala silang expected from David and I to be more than friends kasi alam nga nila we're very good friends and we're really good partners onscreen so okay na sila dun. So laking pasalamat ko rin sa mga supporters namin," the 25-year-old star shared.
In an interview for Cosmo.ph's February cover, David echoed his leading lady’s sentiments, praising Jak for his unconditional support for their team-up. “I think Jak naman knows and understands kasi he’s an actor and kung meron din naman siyang show, he would do the same towards his partner. Syempre ako, I know my boundaries. Alam ko naman na they’re together in real life, so back off tayo when it comes to personal stuff.”
