Bea Alonzo and Angelica Panganiban, who are starring in the upcoming movie Unbreakable, opened up about a time in their friendship when they grew apart. They recalled that it was around the time when Angelica and John Lloyd Cruz became a couple in 2012, though they didn’t mention a specific reason for it.
Bea said on Tonight With Boy Abunda, “Life happened. Maraming mga desisyon. Maraming mga pagkakamali. Maraming kinailangang understanding from both of us.” Angelica said, “Para kaming nag-grow apart. Parang wala nang nag-re-reach out sa amin. Nag-iba talaga. Na-realize ko naman noon na okay lang ‘yon.”
There was no fight or confrontation—they “just chose not to talk to each other.” Bea said, “But even then, kapag may mga nababalitaan ako about her on TV or on social media, [I’d] always wish for her happiness.”
Bea and Angelica reconnected earlier this year, and they’ve been the cutest BFFs lately. On Gandang Gabi Vice, Angelica shared a ~pact~ they made if Bea ever goes back to her ex: “Makukulong ako [dahil sa] arson kasi pinapasunog niya sa akin ang bahay niya.”
They have the kind of connection that when something funny happens at a group event, they catch each other’s eye and *try* not to laugh. On TWBA, they recalled one party where Jericho Rosales, Bea’s crush, was going around to ask everyone to sing for birthday celebrant Johnny Manahan.
When he bent down to talk to Bea, she thought he was saying bye, so she gave him a beso. Angelica recalled, “Sabi ko talaga, ‘Hala!’” Bea added, “Sabi niya, ‘Ang landi-landi mo!’” Bea recalled her face being super red afterwards, LOL!
