This Beauty Queen Returned To Her Job As A Doctor Amid The COVID-19 Pandemic

She actually has two medical degrees!

A beauty queen from England named Bhasha Mukherjee is returning to her career as a junior doctor to help out amid the COVID-19 pandemic, according to a report by CNN. The original plan was for Bhasha to travel to different countries and continue her charity work until August 2020.

She has recently returned to England from a charity trip in India. Bhasha told CNN that it felt wrong for her to be wearing her Miss England crown while "people around the world were dying from coronavirus and her colleagues were working so hard," even if it was for humanitarian work.

She added: "When you are doing all this humanitarian work abroad, you're still expected to put the crown on, get ready...look pretty...I wanted to come back home. I wanted to come and go straight to work."

Bhasha is scheduled to return to her job at the Pilgrim Hospital in Boston Lincolnshire, after one to two weeks of self-quarantine. Although her specialization is respiratory medicine, Bhasha shares that doctors are currently being rotated to wherever they are needed.
