Bela Padilla is replacing Nadine Lustre in the remake of Korean movie Miracle In Cell No. 7, according to Metro Manila Film Festival (MMFF) spokesperson Noel Ferrer in a CNN Philippines report. Nadine “begged off the project due to medical concerns and her resulting inability to perform her duties as an actress during the shoot up to the promotion of the film,” Viva Artists Agency said in a letter to the MMFF executive committee.
The MMFF has approved the change in leading actress, according to ABS-CBN News. “We believe that Bela Padilla is an excellent actress and a bankable star, and she will significantly contribute to the film's artistry and commercial success.”
It was just this month when Viva Artists Agency announced that Nadine will be starring with Aga Muhlach in the remake of the hit Korean comedy-drama. The 2013 movie is about a mentally challenged father who is wrongfully imprisoned for murder. He becomes friends with the criminals in his cell, who help him see his daughter again by smuggling her into prison.
Bela’s recent movies include The Day After Valentine's, Meet Me In St. Gallen, and 100 Tula Para Kay Stella, while Aga’s last movie was First Love with Bea Alonzo. Nadine is starring in the upcoming dance movie Indak with Sam Concepcion.
