In November 2019, Kapuso star Bianca Umali made headlines when she was allegedly seen having an ~altercation~ with her beau Ruru Madrid in a parking lot on the premiere night of Ruru’s movie.
According to a report by Philippine Entertainment Portal (PEP.ph), the actor was in a car with his co-star Jasmine Curtis-Smith and their director Ice Idanan when Bianca walked up to the window and ~sarcastically~ said “Congrats, ha?,” then walked away. Ruru reportedly got out of the car to follow the actress, but she allegedly pushed him away and drove her car. According to the same report, Bianca almost hit Ruru with the car due to *jealousy.*
Instagram/bianxaIn an interview with Boy Abunda, Bianca finally addresses the issue. “To clear things out, there was an incident. Pero yung lahat po nung lumabas na istorya na nababasa niyo to the point na muntik ko nang masagasaan [si Ruru], it was exaggerated at some point,” she says.
"I did not talk about it anymore kasi I don't see the point of clearing the story ng side ko eh. So I just let it be na ganun yung tingin nila, but yes, there was an incident."
When asked if the incident was triggered by jealousy, Bianca answers: “Mayroong history na pinanggagalingan. I think kaya ko nasasabing selosa ako, especially when it comes to my relationships, is because ganoon po ako kagrabe magmahal that I am territorial.”
“Yung pagka-selosa ko po, alam ko na nasa lugar. Kapag alam ko na mayroon akong pagseselosan, doon ako nagseselos, and I have been right all the time,“ she added. “He knows that."
Bianca admits that she and Ruru broke up for eight months after the incident, but the two stayed in touch.
“That was eight months din. Almost a year, we had to,” she says. “We were in touch kasi ganun namin kamahal yung isa't isa. Kahit na in times na nasasaktan ako, kapag mahal kita, mahal kita eh. But Ruru did everything that he could to save the relationship and to win me back, and I did so much work also to forgive and to say na, 'Okay, let's start again, because I love you.'"
