Big-Star Cameos In Kimmy Dora, Angelina And Yaya Movie

After the stargazing success of Regal Films' OMG, these two new Pinoy flicks are set to do repeats.
Regal Films’ OMG (Oh My Girl), starring Judy Ann Santos and Ogie Alcasid, has re-started a craze in Pinoy cinema: putting a lot of the movie’s stars' celebrity friends in for free to do cameos.

Cosmo caught the special screening of Spring Films’ second movie after Manila, Kimmy Dora, which also happens to be the launching movie of Eugene Domingo, and we had a blast spotting all the A-list stars appearing before the camera.

Among the celebs seen were Mark Bautista, Paolo Contis, Rufa Mae Quinto, Christian Bautista, Paolo Ballesteros, Vhong Navarro, Erik Santos, Kristalle Henares of Belo Essentials, and the reigning queen of cameos herself, Asia’s Songbird Regine Velasquez.

Directed by Joyce Bernal, Kimmy Dora opens today in SM Cinemas, as Solar Films is handling the distribution.

Meanwhile, another comedy opening next month will be APT Entertainment and GMA Films’ big screen version of the most popular characters of long-running GMA sitcom Bubble Gang, Angelina and her Yaya.

The Spoiled Brat is directed by Mike Tuviera and will star Michael V as Yaya and Ogie Alcasid as Angelina. Just like Ogie’s other film for the year, OMG, The Spoiled Brat will boast of cameos from big stars.

One thing to note, though: Iza Calzado’s role as a kidnapper does not count as a cameo, since it took at least four days to shoot.
