There's no denying that BLACKPINK has cemented their place in Hallyu history. Since their debut in 2016, Jennie, Jisoo, Lisa, and Rosé have dropped infectious hits that have ruled Korean and international charts. Their strong global following (hurray, Blinks!) has extended their influence to world domination beyond music. Individually and as a group, the girls have established a strong international presence as ambassadors for luxury brands spanning fashion, tech, and beauty.

As we count down to BLACKPINK’s 2022 comeback (though not yet officially announced by YG Entertainment, an industry insider has reportedly spilled the tea on a possible comeback in June!), let's take a moment to familiarize ourselves with the members through the lens of their MBTI (Myers-BriggsType Indicator) personality types. The MBTI classifies one's personality into one of four key areas—with each area composed of two categories: Extroversion (E) vs Introversion (I), Sensing (S) vs Intuition (N), Thinking (T) vs Feeling (F), and Judging (J) vs Perceiving (P). This results in 16 broad types represented by four-letter MBTI labels that reflect how one is drawn to the opposite ends of each category.

Read on and find out which BLACKPINK member's MBTI type is compatible with yours:

  1. Jennie - ISTP: Virtuoso

BLACKPINK's main rapper Jennie Kim was born in Seoul. She studied in New Zealand for five years before returning to South Korea to join YG Entertainment as a trainee in 2010. She is the member who trained the longest (six years!). Jennie always steps up to embrace a leadership role on behalf of the group whenever needed. She was the first member to release a single in 2018 and is currently a muse for luxury brands Chanel and Calvin Klein.

Virtuosos like Jennie have a built-in curiosity that pushes them to explore and create. They love being hands-on when it comes to making ideas come to life. They are always eager to lend a helping hand. Preserving their privacy is important to this MBTI type. Though they have a tendency to be unpredictable and impulsive, their free-spirited approach to life allows them to step out of the box, embrace change, and redefine themselves.

  2. Jisoo - INFJ: Advocate
BLACKPINK's double threat Jisoo Kim is the group's lead vocalist and harmonizer. Unlike the other members who have released solo singles, the 27-year-old has her eye on acting. She scored her first acting debut by doing a cameo in the 2015 K-drama The Producers and played the female lead opposite Jung Hae In in the romantic series Snowdrop.

Jisoo filled in Blinks on her new MBTI type in May while interacting with them on Weverse. She revealed that she took the test again and got an INFJ result (her MBTI type has changed over the years from ESTJ to ENFJ to ESTP). Advocates like Jisoo are rare personality types who make it their mission to do good and make the world a better place. Idealism and principles anchored on integrity drive them to take action. Advocates are quiet types who find purpose in helping others and inspiring them to do what is right. They are creative, imaginative, and very empathic. They take relationships seriously and are in it for the long run.

  3. Lisa - ENFP: Campaigner
    Lalisa Manoban
(aka Lisa) originally hails from Thailand. She left her home in Bangkok in 2011 to become a trainee at YG Entertainment. Lisa confesses that hip-hop runs in her blood. BLACKPINK's fierce rapper and dancer never forgets to channel her roots. She went solo last year with the single "Lalisa" infused with rap, and EDM and accentuated with traditional Thai instruments.

Campaigners like Lisa are creative free spirits who are outgoing and enthusiastic. They are natural leaders who pursue life with an open heart and open mind. They are often seen as the life of the party because their energy is infectious. Strong relationships are very important to them and they rarely stay single because of their constant longing to share their lives with another person.

  4. Rosé - ISFP: Adventurer
Twenty-five-year-old Roseanne Chaeyoung Park (aka Rosé) was born in New Zealand and raised in Australia. She lends her golden voice to BLACKPINK as the group's guitar-playing main vocalist. Last year, she released "On the Ground," her first solo single. She serves as a global ambassador for Yves Saint Laurent and Tiffany & Co.

Adventurers like Rosé are charming and agile. They are true artists who see life as a canvas for self-expression. Their uniqueness is driven by curiosity and their love to experiment and try new things. By not stressing over what people think of them and simply "doing their own thing," they inspire others through the remarkable things they create. As individuals who take each day as it comes, they inject vibrance and spontaneity into relationships they hold dear.
