Ladies, we're crushed. That's because Netflix has announced that Bridgerton star Rege-Jean Page will no longer be reprising his role in season two. Nooooo.

The streaming platform made the announcement on Twitter on April 2, Friday, ala a report from resident gossip columnist Lady Whistledown.

"Dearest Readers," the message began. "While all eyes turn to Lord Anthony Bridgerton's quest to find a Viscountess, we bid adieu to Rege-Jean Page, who so triumphantly played the Duke of Hastings. We'll miss Simon's presence onscreen, but he will always be a part of the Bridgerton family. Daphne will remain a devoted wife and sister, helping her brother navigate the upcoming social season and what it has to offer—more intrigue and romance than my readers may be able to hear. Yours truly, Lady Whistledown."

Bridgerton officially became Netflix's most-watched series ever as of February 1.

The original book, "The Duke and I" by Julia Quinn—which the series is based on—focuses on a different Bridgerton sibling in each of its volumes.
