BTS' Reaction To Their First Major Grammy Nomination Will Make You Cry Happy Tears

It's official: BTS makes history by becoming the first K-Pop group to earn a nomination in a major category at the Grammys! This is technically their second nomination overall, after their album, Love Yourself: Tear, was nominated for Best Recording Package in 2019. 

Their chart-topping single, "Dynamite," earned them a nod in the Best Pop Duo/Group Performance category alongside J Balvin, Dua Lipa, Bad Bunny and Tainy; Justin Bieber (featuring Quavo); Lady Gaga and Ariana Grande; and Taylor Swift (featuring Bon Iver). "Dynamite" dropped on August 21 and is a part of the group's new album, BE, which was released on November 20.

In August, the septet told Grammy.com, "[The inspiration for] it all began from this: Even in the midst of hardships, we must focus on what we can do. As for us, we found freedom and happiness in singing and dancing. This song goes to the ones who need encouragement. We hope people feel energized when listening to the song."

Shortly after the announcement, BTS took to Twitter to share a clip of them reacting to the amazing news. V, Jungkook, RM, and Jimin can be seen nervously waiting before erupting in excited shouts when the group's name appeared on-screen.

Of course, nothing is complete without their ARMY. The boys wrote in Korean, "Thank you to everyone who listened and related to our music during this difficult time. Above all else, it’s ARMY who has created this miracle of our becoming Grammy-nominated artists. We are always grateful, and we love you." They ended their message in English: "Thank you Recording Academy for this great honor!
