Yup, the boys will be making another address at the United Nations—virtually! K-pop boy band BTS has been invited to share a special message at the 75th United Nations General Assembly. Because of the pandemic, this year's assembly will be held virtually and BTS' speech will be aired on September 23, with a program that starts at 9 a.m. (9 p.m in the PH).
According to Soompi, BTS was invited as a speaker by the Group of Friends of Solidarity for Global Health Security, and they will "talk about the difficulties that future generations will face due to COVID-19."
BTS first spoke at the 73rd UN General Assembly in 2018 (the first K-pop boy group to do so). They flew to UN HQ in New York, where they supported the launch of Generation Unlimited: "a new global partnership to help every young person into quality education, training, or employment by 2030." RM, speaking for the group, talked about their Love Myself campaign with UNICEF. Watch the full speech here:
They even have a special behind-the-scenes video from the event! We can see them holding a *meeting* in Korea, sleeping during the plane ride, having their hair and makeup done, and, finally, making a ~grand entrance~ to make their address.
