GMA-7 actor Ruru Madrid is a big fan of South Korean K-pop group BTS, and idolizes Kim Taehyung, popularly known as V.
On Wednesday, July 15, Ruru made the hearts of Filipino BTS fans (aka PH ARMYs) flutter after he uploaded a mirror selfie on his social media accounts, which showed him wearing a similar fashion ensemble as V.
At press time, his Instagram post has garnered over 114,000 likes.
In his caption, Ruru wrote the idol group's 2019 chart-topping hit "Boy With Luv" with a tiger emoji. On Twitter, it has so far garnered around 31,000 retweets and 151,000 likes.
PH ARMYs pointed out that he could easily pass for V's brother.
V wore the all-black outfit at the birthday party of fellow BTS member Jin in December 2019, after attending the Mnet Asian Music Awards in Japan.
BTS' V REACTS
A Turkish BTS fan with the handle name @BenNuTellaN uploaded Ruru's OOTD on Weverse, a Korean mobile app and web platform created by South Korean entertainment company Big Hit Entertainment, where the fans and artists can interact.
V noticed Ruru's photo, and left a comment which read (as translated in English): "KKKKKKKKKKKKK (laughing sounds) ah seeing things like this make me think if i should just give up on working out... KKKK (laughing sounds)." Thrilled about V's comment, Ruru retweeted it with a starstruck emoji.
Winwyn Marquez, who is also a big fan of BTS, was happy for the Kapuso actor. In a tweet, the beauty queen told Ruru, "Okay Ruru okay. Isang malaking high five sa'yo! Why am I so proud?! Haha!"
Ruru replied to Winwyn's tweet, "Borahae. Gulat din akoooo."
"Borahae" is a Korean word made popular by V which means "I purple you."
