Shawn Mendes and Camila Cabelo are very much still a thing, after she expertly clapped back at breakup rumours with a single Instagram post. And no, it didn't involve PDA.
After working together on "Senorita" in June 2019, Camila, 23, and Shawn, 22, sent fans into a frenzy when they became an actual item. Fast toward 15 months, and they're as into the relationship as ever—despite recent reports suggesting otherwise.
ICYMI, Page Six reported rumours of the pair's split when the usually affectionate couple weren't spotted out in public together for months. The last photographs of them together were published in March 2020—six months ago.
But Camila has put the speculation to bed with her latest Instagram post, when she threw support behind Shawn's recently announced album. "The world could use some magic, beauty, and Wonder always, but especially right now," she wrote to her 50.1 million followers.
"@shawnmendes what a gorgeous gift to the world. He’s crafted this album with every last bit of his soul, his spirit, and his essence with the purest of intentions. My love, I’m so proud of the person you are and I’m so excited for people to see and hear your heart."
Shawn replied with the heart emoji. Well, that gushy caption certainly ends that!
In March, Camila and Shawn revealed they had been self-isolating together in Miami, performing for the IHeart Living Room Concert for America, which was hosted by Elton John. The pair sang a stripped back version of Camila's "My Oh My" single. Live-streaming to the world, Shawn praised the "brave nurses and doctors out there working so hard every day…We’re thinking about you so much. Thank you for everything you’re doing."
While Camila added, "We love you, we're in this together, stay safe, stay healthy, stay kind and compassionate with your self and each other. Let’s pull through this together like we always do."
The romance is alive and well, people.
