Big things are in store for Carlo Aquino. He just landed his first lead role in an international film! Wow.

Talent agency Star Magic Philippines recently shared photos from the actor's contract signing event with High Roads Creaties, an independent film company, and 034 Productions, a Japanese film outfit.

"Filming is set to begin early next year," Star Magic's post confirmed. It has yet to reveal who Carlo's co-actors will be and what the movie's actually going to be about. Also present at the contract signing event was ABS-CBN TV production head and concurrent Star Magic head Laurenti Dyogi.

Carlo has more than two decades' worth of experience acting in television and in films. The 37-year-old actor recently starred in the ABS-CBN series How To Move On In 30 Days with Maris Racal and is currently promoting his Viva Films movie with Julia Barretto, the romantic drama Expensive Candy.

Congrats, Carlo!
