Another usual Saturday night was made extraordinary as local celebrities, personalities, and fashion icons flocked to the doors of 7th High in Bonifacio High Street on July 7. Onlookers gaped in awe as celebrities like Solenn Heussaff stepped out of their cars clad in dresses with strategically placed cutouts--and her hunky beau Nico Bolzico by her side--all in celebration of this year’s Preview Best Dressed Ball.
Actress and this month’s Preview cover girl Dawn Zulueta led the pack of this year’s Best Dressed ladies. The other fashionable mavens to join her on the list are actresses Megan Young and Lovi Poe, fashion designer and alumni of PEFTA’s pioneer batch Vania Romoff, San Vicente Mayor Pie Alvarez, columnist Mara Coson, jewelry designer Joyce Makitalo, businesswoman Tessie Singson, accessory designer Emi Jorge, and mother and wife Linda Ley.
Mesh knits, neon colors, and flesh-baring cutouts ruled the night as partygoers dressed to the theme of this year’s ball: athletic chic. Fun interpretations of the suggested dress code were seen all over the club and dance floor—Tim Yap arrived in a Rajo Laurel blazer studded with tennis balls! Meanwhile, Divine Lee and Phoemela Baranda arrived in dresses that were similar to the bodysuits and swimsuits of decades past.
Sporty Spice would have had no trouble fitting in that night, as everyone strived to look fashionable in athletic-inspired outfits. Most of the crowd took the opportunity to have some fun with their outfits, with model Adrien Semblat arriving dressed in a referee’s outfit with his girlfriend, Isabelle Daza. Other celebs spotted at the party were Laureen Uy, Tweetie de Leon, and Zombettes Sanya Smith and Ornussa Cadness.
