Celebrity photographer Raymund Isaac has passed away at age 59 due to COVID-19.
Raymund's brother, Edward Isaac, confirmed Raymund's death in a social media post, saying, "To those who prayed with us in different parts of the world for Raymund, thank you. He will be missed by many, most of our family, and those he touched."
On his Facebook page on July 24 (Philippine time), Raymund, who was in the US, asked for prayers as he was rushed to a hospital due to a lack of oxygen. According to his partner, Jayson Vicente, Raymund continued to have problems breathing and was transferred to the intensive care unit on August 1. At the time, he had developed pneumonia and his oxygen levels had dropped.
Celebs who had the chance to work with Raymund took to social media to honor his memory.
"Many years of friendship and memories," wrote Charlene Gonzalez. "The universe will miss your energy, generosity, and kindness."
"Hindi pa rin ako makapaniwala," said Sue Ramirez. "I worked with you on my first endorsement photoshoot and since then, you have been my favorite. It was such an honor to have worked with you."
"I'll never forget na pinagluluto mo ‘ko tuwing gulay yung food sa shoot natin," Angel Locsin wrote on IG. "Sa mga payo at paniniwala sa akin. Sa mga encouragement mo sa mga photoshoots na nakakadagdag ng confidence. Yung 80s music mo. Isa kang alamat."
"I love you, Raymund, and thank you for your kindness through the years," said Lea Salonga, who posted photos with him from 2007 and 2020.
"Madalas kang kasama sa importantant events of my life with [regard to] my career projects, sa lahat ng pagkakataon na ikaw ang nag-pictorial sa 'min and gumawa ng music vids."
Raymund has worked with some of the Philippines' biggest names, such as Vilma Santos, Sarah Geronimo, and Piolo Pascual. In 2020, he started a series on his YouTube channel, "Quarantine Chikahan," where he caught up with his friends in the industry amid the pandemic.
Rest in peace, Raymund. Our thoughts and prayers are with you and your loved ones at this time.
