When news broke out that Congress voted to give the Commission of Human Rights (CHR) a budget of P1,000, Filipinos could not believe it. Several stars also expressed their shock over the development.
As we mark 45 years since Martial Law was declared, it makes perfect sense to reiterate the need for a government agency that will defend from abuses done by those in power.
