  • Channing Tatum and Jessie J broke up last week. :(
  • A report claims that their break up occurred because Channing is really busy with his career and being a dad right now.

Just in case you've been living under a rock this past week (it's the holidays, you are totally allowed to do that rn), Channing Tatum and singer Jessie J have officially called their relationship quits after a year of dating. Yep, y'all—they broke up about a month before the holidays, which I can imagine must be all kinds of sad for them.

According to a People source, things between Channing and Jessie ended up fizzling out because the "timing was off" for them. They did try to make it work, though. The source said that Channing “is super busy with his career, as a dad and will be traveling a lot in the coming months,” and that “he has a world awaiting him and is trying to manage how busy he is which isn’t easy.”

Despite the unfortunate timing, the source insisted that their break up “came at a good time” and that Channing and Jessie “made the most of it.” “He [Channing] has a lot on his plate right now and wants to be the best dad possible which means he needs to be around when he isn’t traveling for his own work,” the source added. To brush you up on some history, Channing famously dated and was married to Jenna Dewan, and they share their six year old daughter, Everly.

Even though breaking up before the holidays really sucks, there is a pretty big silver lining here! Channing and Jessie are on relatively good terms even though things didn't work out between them, a separate source confirmed to People last week. “There wasn’t any drama. They just decided to part ways and are still good friends.”
