Eliza Pineda is one of those child stars who will always have a special place in our hearts—thanks to her unforgettable roles in Kung Fu Kids and Maria Flordeluna that had us glued to our screens back in the day.
Fast forward to 2022, the young actress has come a long way since her early days on TV, and she’s been missed by many since she decided to take a break from the ‘biz.
Thankfully, she recently uploaded a YouTube vlog to give a little *life update*, much to the delight of her fans waiting for her comeback.
Below, five things you probably didn’t know about the 26-year-old (!!!) young showbiz sweetheart.
5 Things to Know About Eliza Pineda
1. She’s a professional writer now.
Aside from acting, Eliza is also fond of writing. She does PR, copywriting, and content creation for various websites, and it's been her *dream job* since she was 13. Fun fact: When she was young, she used to write children’s storybooks for fun and would ask for help from friends. “Yung mga kaibigan ko, sinasama ko sila. Pinagdo-drawing ko sila.”
She started writing professionally when she was 19—at one point even juggling her acting and writing careers along with her studies at UP. Talk about ~dedication~.
2. She’s an introvert.
While not everyone was ecstatic with the restrictions of being in a lockdown, Eliza thrived during the quarantine, taking the time to rest and recharge. “Parang na-validate yung pagka-introvert ko at that time. You didn't have to go out, you didn't have to see anyone, you didn't have to do anything. So basically, nag-disappear lang ako.” Relate!
3. She’s still friends with former 'Goin Bulilit' castmate Kristel Fulgar.
The two were best buddies on the set of the hit children’s show Goin Bulilit and have managed to stay close throughout the years. They even vlog about their hangouts once in a while! “Healthy ng relationship namin! Super click kami,” Kristel says of their longstanding bond.
4. She’s looking into collaborating with Joshua Dionisio.
Raise your hands if your first ever *kilig* experience was when you watched their scenes at Kung Fu Kids! FYI, Eliza is aware that fans are still *shipping* her with her former co-star up to this day. “Hanggang ngayon, nasa TikTok, nasa Facebook, lahat ng kaibigan ko tina-tag pa rin ako.” And as if that doesn’t make us smile enough, she even answered a fan’s comment that suggested a collab between our OG OTP. “Noted,” she wrote. OMG. Can’t wait!
5. She’s still not *fully* ready to go back to showbiz yet.
Acting will always be Eliza’s first love, but as of now, she says she’s not a hundred percent ready to go back. ”Di pa ko ready sa negativity na naka-attach sa trabaho na yan. I know that I’ll get bashers for the weight gain, for what I look like now, and the fact na nawala ako. People will say all these things, and sensitive lola nyo.”
She’s not closing any doors, though. “If I do get an offer that is very close to my heart and something that I really wanna do, then yes, I’ll accept it.”
