Comprised of seven veteran actresses all in their 40s, Son Ye Jin's close group of friends has been through the ups and downs of the entertainment industry together, all while still remaining the best of pals. While they've been spotted out and about the hot spots of Seoul, they're quick to admit that they'd rather relax at home together, saying that "they never hang out past midnight"—hence, their name, the Cinderella 7!
The septet hit the news again after their member, Gong Hyo Jin, was the last to tie the knot recently, in the wake of her reportedly catching the bouquet during Ye Jin and Hyun Bin's much-talked about nuptials. But who exactly makes up this star-studded squad? Read on to find out!
The members of Cinderella 7, AKA Son Ye Jin's close circle of Korean celebrity friends
1. Son Ye Jin
She needs no introduction! The 40-year-old Hallyu favorite caught Filipino audiences' attention as the charming Yoon Se Ri in the much-raved (and pandemic favorite!) drama Crash Landing On You. Named as one of the "Nation's First Love," the star has also lent her acting chops to films like The Last Princess and series Something In The Rain and Thirty-Nine. With no surprise, Ye Jin has several acting award credentials to her name in her two-decade-long career!
2. Gong Hyo Jin
A K-rom-com isn't the same without Gong Hyo Jin, as she's been dubbed as its unofficial queen. But apart from award-winning roles in When The Camellia Blooms and The Producers, the celebrity is also a multi-hyphenated figure. Included in her long list of titles are book author, occasional singer, and fashion designer, with one of her projects a collaboration with the famous eyewear brand Gentle Monster. She recently wedded fellow performer Kevin Oh in an intimate ceremony, which she celebrated wearing chunky sneakers and bright red socks!
3. Lee Jung Hyun
Proving the group's multi-talented status once again, Lee Jung Hyun has both earned a status as an actress in films such as Train To Busan sequel Peninsula, and as South Korea's "Techno Queen," a musical pioneer of the genre in the country. Not only that, but Jung Hyun was previously named ambassador twice—once for UNESCO, and another for the Korea-China Cultural Industry Conference!
4. Lee Min Jung
After kickstarting her thespian career as a stage actor, the 40-year-old star made her way into television and film, with one of her breakthrough roles as Ha Jae Kyung in the K-drama classic Boys Over Flowers. Now, she also has her fair share of accolades, both for her acting stints in Cyrano Agency and White Night, and also as a style icon in her own right!
5. Oh Yoon Ah
Years before she started her profession on the silver and small screen, Oh Yoon Ah was a former racing model in the early 2000s. Ending a short stint as a reporter soon after, Yoon Ah became a full-fledged actor, appearing in dramas like Angry Mom, Hospital Playlist, and Once Again.
6. Song Yoon Ah
The eldest of the bunch at 49, Song Yoon Ah got her start in the mid-90s, progressing into a drama mainstay in shows including Secret Garden, Secret Mother, Graceful Friends, and most recently, Show Window: The Queen's House. The actress has an impressive award run, having won most acting nods she's been nominated in!
7. Uhm Ji Won
With her recent stint as the resident ruthless villainess of Netflix drama Little Women, Uhm Ji Won has been a name to remember! Aside from this memorable performance, the actress has been lauded for several of her roles, such as Hope, Man On the Edge, and Missing. She's also a YouTuber, to boot!
