Wait, Coldplay Spent How Much For Concert Wristbands?

Coldplay is changing the flashing wristbands they give out to fans at gigs after Taylor Swift used a similar scheme on her latest tour.

Yep, the British band spent an estimated $640,000-a-night (about P30 million) to supply fans with the gadgets that lit up in time to the beat of their music at concerts on their 2011 Mylo Xyloto Tour.

Taylor used a similar concept for her recent 1989 World Tour shows, and Chris admits his group is planning to rethink the wristband idea to make sure their upcoming shows are different to Taylor's.

"The Swiftbands? Yeah I saw she was using them, that's cool," Chris tells the Sydney Daily Telegraph. "It's been amazing to watch her go [succeed]. But it has meant we have had to update our wristbands, so we're coming up with this new thing... We have to adapt them, make a mark 2, otherwise we're copying Taylor."

Coldplay is due to kick off the A Head Full of Dreams tour in Buenos Aires, Argentina in March 2016 before trekking across the U.K. and Europe between May and July 2016.
