We've long established that Pinoys love K-dramas, so much so that some of us have even gone as far as to incorporate them into our milestone events. In fact, a number of Korean drama-themed prenup photoshoots have caught the internet's attention lately, where engaged couples are dressed up to mimic the beloved swoon-worthy pairings in popular shows such as Crash Landing On You, Reply 1988, and Start-Up.
For Nueva Ecija couple Xyra Ballesteros and Alexis Pedrico, they took the historical K-drama route for their own prenuptial pictorial. The two, who are self-proclaimed K-drama fans (their favorite shows are Korean Odyssey and Endless Love), got inspo from the 2006 TV series Jumong. This show was set in Korea's Goguryeo period and its impact contributed to the spread of the hallyu wave in Asia.
After getting engaged in February 2021, Xyra and Alexis opted for the theme since their planned trip to Korea last year was postponed due to the ongoing pandemic. "To be honest with you, idea ni Bessy [Alexis] 'yan. Mahilig siya sa historical K-drama and crush niya si Song Hye Kyo," Xyra told Preview in an exclusive interview. "I agreed sa idea niya na Korean drama-themed ang gawin namin kasi mukhang matatagalan pa bago kami makakapag travel ulit."
