Here’s some good news for Pinoy Crazy Rich Asian fans and fashionistas alike. The much-anticipated sequel to the blockbuster movie will reportedly be filmed in the Philippines, according to author Kevin Kwan!

During his visit to the Philippines last year for the World Travel & Tourism Council Global Summit, the novelist revealed that he wanted the sequel to be set in the country, stating that, “It’s a country with so many amazing locations, cultures, flavors, and of course, people. This is my fourth trip [to the Philippines] and it’s always a pleasure to be back. It’s always surprising—I never know what will happen, but it’s always a grand adventure.”
Lawrence Bender, the producer of the film, was also with him during the summit. “[Kevin] wrote a script, and it’s like a love letter to the Philippines,” he said.
If you're familiar with the trilogy, the Philippines is only mentioned in Rich People Problems, the final book of the series. So if they’re following the books, we won’t be seeing the Philippines in the movies just yet. Either way, we can't wait to see how the movie will showcase the beauty of the Philippines and, of course, what stylish outfits they’ve got in store for us.
