WARNING: *SPOILERS AHEAD* for Dinner Mate! Please read at your own risk!
We've all seen those photos of Dinner Mate stars Seo Ji Hye and Song Seung Heon which reminded us of Crash Landing On You. It *definitely* wasn't a coincidence, because the show made more than a few direct references to CLOY in its latest episode!
In Episode 8, Ji Hye's character Do Hee is testing out a video called Past Life Regression With A Psychiatrist. While listening with her eyes closed, she imagines herself in a grass field, and a "comrade" in military uniform—who turns out to be Seung Heon's character Hae Kyung—slowly walks towards her. We even hear the CLOY theme song "Flower" by Yoon Mirae. He calls her by the name "Dan" and then...she wakes up from the trance!

Do Hee's colleagues tell her that she must have been a North Korean in her past life. Another workmate listens to the psychiatrist and blurts out that his name is Ri Jeong-hyeok. He tells someone named Se-ri that he misses her and mentions the words "piano" and "tomato!"
You can watch snippets of it here.
Earlier this year, Seo Ji Hye starred as a posh North Korean named Seo Dan in Crash Landing On You. Seo Dan is engaged to Captain Ri Jeong-hyeok (Hyun Bin), but he falls for South Korean heiress Yoon Se-ri (Son Ye Jin). Seo Dan then strikes up an unusual friendship with Seung-joon (Kim Jung Hyun) and eventually develops feelings for him!
Dinner Mate tells the story of Do Hee, a producer, and Hae Kyung, a psychiatrist, who are both *jaded* when it comes to relationships. They end up sharing meals with each other even though they don't know each other's names! Kim Jung Hyun also made a cameo in Dinner Mate's first episode as Do Hee's cheating boyfriend.
