BuyBust's rave review from Screen Daily

Erik Matti's action film, BuyBust, made its debut at the New York Asian Film Festival and received a rave review by Screen Daily. "Filipino genre pioneer Erik Matti has delivered one of the most blistering action pictures since Mad Max: Fury Road (2015) on a fraction of George Miller's blockbuster budget," the review stated. Lead stars Anne Curtis and Brandon Vera were also praised for their performances: "Seizing an opportunity for career reinvention, Curtis anchors the mayhem with great charisma, forming a terrific partnership with the stoic Vera, whose towering frame and tank-like indestructibility are offset by a resolutely calm manner. Their resolute performances give a vital human quality to a film that is otherwise as brazenly cynical as it is brilliantly executed."

BuyBust opens in cinemas nationwide on August 1 and will start streaming on Netflix on November 1. (Screen Daily)
