Last week, on July 3, the Department of Tourism released this year’s tourism video to entice travelers from around the world to visit the Philippines. The video is entirely crowd-sourced, with clips from tourists around the country.
Erwan Heussaff, on his Instagram stories last night, revealed that some of his videos were chosen for the campaign.
Erwan has been posting a lot of travel content lately. Last month, he visited Apo Reef (the world’s largest contiguous coral reef system after the Great Barrier Reef) in Mindoro. Over the summer, he climbed Mount Pulag (the Philippines’ third highest mountain) in the Cordilleras.
In February 2019, the Department of Tourism announced its fresh take on the slogan “It’s More Fun in the Philippines.”
Tourism Secretary Bernadette Romulo-Puyat described it to be a “100 percent crowd-sourced campaign made entirely by people who have experienced firsthand why it’s more fun in the Philippines.” The clips chosen were also for the preservation of the Philippines’ natural resources.
The campaign even features a new typeface called “Barabara,” which is inspired by the hand lettering seen on jeepneys. It’s free for download and use so that “everyone can be part of the fun.”
