A little bit of palatable (R) news for this dark day: Fifty Shades Darker has been given an R rating by the MPAA,  Coming Soon reports, and will feature "strong erotic sexual content, some graphic nudity, and language.” Get excited!

The sequel, which will chronicle the continuing kinky adventures of innocent wallflower Ana Steele (Dakota Johnson) and brooding sociopath Christian Grey (Jamie Dornan), now officially has the same rating as its predecessor Fifty Shades of Grey. The only difference is that the MPAA included "unusual behavior" in its description of the first film, suggesting that maybe Ana and Christian have taken things down a notch in the bedroom Red Room. Or maybe they're just too busy dealing with Christian's jealous ex-girlfriends—among them Kim Basinger's Elena and Bella Heathcote's Leila, both of whom will be causing mischief this time around—to innovate much between the sheets.

Though the cast returns in full, Fifty Shades Darker features an all-new creative team, with James Foley replacing Sam Taylor-Wood as director and Niall Leonard writing the screenplay. Author E. L. James remains on-board as a producer.
