With the ongoing COVID-19 pandemic, face-to-face learning had to transition to online classes, leaving students to adjust accordingly to continue their dreams of pursuing education and earning a diploma. Despite the added hurdles brought about by the pandemic, the Class of 2021 powered through and finally reached the finish line of their high school and college experience.

Here are six Filipino personalities who proudly graduated in 2021:

1. Lorin Gutierrez

In June 2021, Lorin Gutierrez graduated from senior high school and mom Ruffa Gutierrez could not be prouder. Lorin attended The British School Manila.

2. Alexa Ilacad

Alexa Ilacad recently announced on her Instagram that she's finally graduating from Treston International College with a degree in Marketing. She's also a dean's lister with a GWA of 1.00!

3. Leon Barretto

Dani, Julia, and Claudia Barretto's younger brother Leon also finished high school with flying colors this year. Mom Marjorie shared the good news on social media, saying that Leon graduates with high honors and seven medals, which includes awards in Mathematics, Social Science, Arts, and Communications.

4. Jodi Sta. Maria

In June 2021, veteran actress Jodi Sta. Maria earned her degree in Psychology from Southville International School and Colleges. "Remember, it is never too late, and you are never too old to reach your stars," Jodi shared on Instagram.

5. Rain Matienzo

TikTok star and TV host Rain Matienzo graduated from the University of the Philippines - Diliman in July 2021. Rain took up Broadcast Communication and graduated cum laude! In a Twitter post, Rain recounted the struggles and uncertainty she had to go through before achieving this milestone. "I was 15 when I got depressed and left college after two weeks at UP Baguio. A great deal of life was uncertain to me then, but I was sure of one thing: that I'll be back to finish what I started in UP," Rain said.

6. Michelle Vito

In March 2021, actress Michelle Vito shared that she officially graduated from De La Salle-College of Saint Benilde with a degree in Human Resource Management. Michelle also recounted how she would immediately rush to class (pre-COVID!) in Taft after wrapping up filming. "I'll never forget my struggles in hard classes, mga puyat, and my cramming mode," Michelle said.
