Now a college freshman in New York, Frankie Pangilinan revealed that she’ll be launching an online journal called Simone Says. Frankie, whose full name is Simone Francesca Emmanuelle Pangilinan, said it’s “a journal, an archive of art, and a culmination of passions.”
She posted on Instagram, “For a while now, I’ve struggled to properly convey some of my thoughts regarding a range of things—from beauty and fashion to philosophy and politics—all from my still-limited, albeit growing, perspective. You may already know the depths of my adoration for the written word. To this end, Simone Says is a catalogue of growth, a dialogue of exploration and learning while I navigate the world of university abroad, still remaining invariably tied to home.”
The singer, who recently teamed up with Ely Buendia for the single “tyl,” tagged her friends Christian Olarte and Enrique Marshall as her collaborators.
Frankie, who’s the daughter of Sharon Cuneta and Sen. Francis “Kiko” Pangilinan, is known for speaking her mind. In July, she opened up about her bikini photos. “It’s my body, my tiger stripes and all. If girls can’t feel comfortable in their own body and if girls aren’t allowed to do what they want with their body, what kind of world am I growing up in?”
Noticing that she gets “a little extra attention” whenever she posts a bikini photo, she took control of the narrative. In the same month, she posted another set of swimsuit pics to put the focus on “more important things we should all be discussing.”
