Fashion designer Furne Amato has just revealed the meaning behind Rabiya Mateo's yellow gown, and it is so *beautiful.*
The UAE-based designer took to Instagram to share photos of his creation, along with all the details that went into producing the gown and the inspiring message behind it.
Furne describes Rabiya's evening gown, called "The Sun," as a one-sided neckline tulle gown encrusted with Citrine Swarovski crystals, glass beads, and paillettes from the bodice to the hem and cape.
"The cape added royalty to the gown, and its beadwork was inspired by the radiance of the Philippine sun which symbolizes positivity and optimism. A hope for a new tomorrow, a world with endless beauty and happiness."
"The Sun—it symbolizes happiness, strength, and vitality. Even at 93 million miles away, it warms, illuminates, and energizes us, making us feel our best and our brightest."
Here's a close-up look at the gown's elaborate beadwork. It is simply ~stunning~.
And those earrings!
"Yellow is the color of celebration."
In an online interview, Furne shared that his team actually spent *10,000 hours* making four of Rabiya's gowns. Wow.
Here's Rabiya rocking the gown in the ongoing Miss Universe prelims. Go, Rabiya!
