Gazini Ganados will be representing the Philippines at this year's Miss Universe competition! I know we're all curious about this 23-year-old beauty from Cebu, so here are 10 important facts about Gazini.
1. Gazini was born on December 26, 1995.
During an interview with PhilStar, Gazini shared that she used to wonder about her dad when she was younger: "There came a point when I asked myself, 'Would I hate him if I see him?' But, otherwise, that wouldn't change a thing. Instead, I would just hug him and thank him for everything. Even if he wasn't there, I'm still alive. I'm here, and I made a difference."
2. She's a tourism graduate!
Gazini studied Tourism Management at the University of San Jose-Recoletos in Cebu. She also holds a degree in Health Care Services.
3. Gazini advocates for elderly care.
According to the Binibining Pilipinas website, growing up with her grandparents inspired Gazini to champion elderly care. In an interview, Gazini shared: "I've just noticed that there are not so many standing up for this cause. They usually lobby for other issues. For me, I just thought our elderly need someone to fight for their rights, someone to be there for them and someone to be their voice."
4. Binibining Pilipinas is her first-ever beauty pageant win!
"The Miss Universe Philippines is my first crown," Gazini told PhilStar in July 2019. "I'm usually just first runner-up, second runner-up, or even backstage. It was okay. It was a learning curve for me."

5. Her signature walk is called the "Ganado Walk."
She demonstrated the "Ganado Walk" during an episode of Tonight With Boy Abunda in June 2019. During her guesting for the show, Gazini even removed her makeup as a reaction to bashers! WHOA.
6. Her *first celebrity crush* was Xian Lim.
7. Gazini might ask for an interpreter during the Miss Universe Q&A portion.
Before she flew to the US, Gazini said that she's reconsidering asking for an interpreter: "I will think about it. Kasi I would like to showcase the Bisaya language in an international arena. Of course, I'm a proud Bisaya myself...But then again, I have to reconsider because not all people can understand that language. So, I will reconsider that po."
8. She's a fitness junkie.
In a Front Row video released in November 2019, Gazini shared: "I prefer being in my workout clothes, that's where I'm most comfortable in. Going to the gym, I do Muai Thai, yoga. I find my happiness with exercising—the adrenaline rush that I get from it, the endorphins, it makes me feel alive."
9. She has an adorable pug named Jabba!
Jabba is a constant source of joy on Gazini's Instagram account. She has a soft spot for dogs and supports PAWS (Philippine Animal Welfare Society).
10. Gazini is a pescetarian.
A pescetarian diet incorporates seafood as the only source of meat. During her interview in The Bottom Line, Gazini shared that she tried being a vegetarian for a while, but she figured out that she was losing muscle mass.
