Gerald Anderson On All The Bashing The Barrettos Are Receiving: 'No one deserves that'

He also confirmed that he had a talk with Julia's dad, Dennis Padilla.

It seems like the Bea Alonzo-Gerald Anderson-Julia Barretto controversy is far from over, especially after Julia's much-talked-about Instagram post broke the internet.

On August 7, during an interview with ABS-CBN, Gerald confirmed that he was able to talk to Julia's father Dennis Padilla about the issue. "Si Sir Dennis, tumawag siya sa akin. Of course, he called me. I answered the phone, we had a good conversation. Tumawag siya kasi isa siyang concerned father. Anak niya 'yon, e. Anak niya 'yon.

He added, "Siyempre, alam natin na grabe rin yung bashing sa side nila. No one deserves that...Even sina Tita Marjorie, I got to meet their family before. She has a very beautiful and nice family. One thing for sure is that they're very strong and united. It's just unfortunate na nadamay and nasabit, but at least they're all together." 

Julia's mom and her older sister Dani Barretto have been very vocal on social media, defending her from accusers and replying to people's comments online.

How did this all start? On July 21, Bea's cryptic "ENOUGH" post on Instagram got people talking about a rumored rift with her boyfriend Gerald. Shortly after that, photos of Julia and Gerald reportedly getting all flirty at a party went viral. Rumors then circulated that the two were the reason behind Bea's post. A few days later, Bea said in an interview that she had no formal breakup with Gerald and he just suddenly stopped talking to her. Gerald recently cleared the air about the matter, saying that there was no third party involved in his breakup with Bea at all. Julia broke her silence and denied being part of Bea and Gerald's separation, saying, "I was brought into this mess without a choice."
