The pandemic has definitely changed how we go about our everyday life, such as going to work, eating at restaurants, and running errands. For our entertainment, we now rely on streaming services to watch movies and concerts, and actress Glaiza De Castro—whose movie Midnight In A Perfect World was released digitally—believes that this is the future of films now.
During Preview's virtual 25th anniversary celebration, Glaiza shared that one of the things she misses most about going to cinemas and movie premieres is seeing other film buffs, getting to ask them about their opinions, and just ~appreciating~ the flicks together IRL.
"Iba pa rin talaga yung experience 'pag nasa loob ka ng cinema, eh. Kasi makikita mo at maririnig mo yung mga reactions ng mga tao. Yun yung nakakamiss [is] when you get to experience it together."
"Ngayon, yes, you still experience it, but within your house lang."
The 32-year-old actress was stranded for seven months—from March to October—with her family and boyfriend at their rest house in Baler, Aurora in compliance with community quarantine protocols.
During that time, Glaiza shared that she had discovered new hobbies and made more time for her self-care routine. One of the things that relax her is being able to complete (and even experiment) with her skincare regimen. "Mas na-enjoy ko siya. It gives me some sort of comfort, na kapag you take really good care of your skin and you nurture it, you'll really see the effects. Parang ang sarap bumangon sa umaga," she mused.
And just like the rest of us, Glaiza turned to cooking food to relieve the quarantine blues. "Na-e-enjoy ko siya ngayon. Especially [because] yung parents ko, kasama ko rin sa house. So may mga times na ni-loo-look forward to ko yung mga reactions nila. Ang saya ng feeling kapag nasasarapan sila." She also promised herself that she would continue cooking up a storm in the kitchen even after this year ends, yay!
Love that for you, Glaiza!
