ICYMI, Herlene Budol, also known as "Hipon Girl" to her fans, won first runner-up at the Binibining Pilipinas 2022 Coronation Night, which took place on July 31, 2022 at the Smart Araneta Coliseum. While she may not have taken home the crown, she certainly won the hearts of many by staying true to who she is.
During the Q&A portion, the comedienne and former Wowowin host was asked the question, which was translated in Tagalog: "Ang beauty pageant ay isang lugar para sa transpormasyon. Anong transpormasyon na importante nangyare sayo habang nandito ka sa Binibining Pilipinas?”
She responded: "Para sa’kin, isang karangalan ang naka tungtong ako dito sa Binibining Pilipinas bilang isang binibining hindi inaasahan. Para sa’kin, ang sarap pala mangarap. Ang sarap mangarap. Walang impossible. Isa po akong komidyante na laki sa hirap at ang aking transpormasyon ay ang mag bigay ng inspirasyon because I know for myself that I’m uniquely beautiful with a mission. Salamat po."
The 22-year-old, who stunned in a sheer, embellished gown, also won several special awards, such as the following: Binibining Shein, Binibining Pizza Hut, Binibining Kumu, Bininibing JAG, Binibining Silka, and Binibining World Balance.
